When Apple launched the original iPad last year, they also offered an Apple branded iPad Case.  The reviews of Apple iPad case were okay, but it clearly indicated that Apple was lagging behind third-party accessory manufacturers in offering what customers looked for in iPad protection. Now, with the launch of iPad 2, Apple has also released its own and new improved Smart Cover for iPad 2.  Just like the new iPad 2 tablet, the cover is smaller, slicker, and comes in many attractive colors.  Here’s a review of the iPad 2 Smart Cover.

One of the attractive features of iPad 2 is that it is thin, sleek and amazingly flat-out.  No one would like to hide the beauty of iPad 2 behind bulky iPad cases.  The new smart cover by Apple is a real beauty and is as slim as iPad 2.  This is a newer, better, and smarter version of iPad case. The iPad 2 and the Smart Cover are indeed made for each other.

The newly launched iPad 2 cover by Apple, is actually not a case; rather it is a magnetic cover that attaches to the screen of iPad, giving it utmost protection from scratches.  Built-in magnets attract the Smart Cover to iPad into a perfect fit that not only offers protection, but also stands up, wakes up, and brightens up your iPad in a smart way – with an exciting new magnetic sleep-on-closing and wake-on-opening ability.  This slim yet sturdy cover can protect the screen of your iPad 2 without covering up its durable aluminum back.  You can show off your smart cover as much of your iPad 2!

The most amazing thing with this Smart Cover is its on-again, off-again feature.  iPad wakes up, if you open it  and goes to sleep when you close it.  Both the actions are done automatically and you need not have to press any buttons for it.  It is designed in such a way that it fits comfortable with iPad.  Build in magnets within the iPad frame and smart cover helps to align smart cover perfectly with iPad.
